The short answer
Choose Notion when saved links are one part of a larger system of documents, databases, projects and company knowledge. Choose Dekkit when visual research is the main workflow and you want capture, source context and spatial synthesis without first designing a database.
Notion is deliberately broad. Its Web Clipper saves a page into a selected Notion page or database, and mobile sharing can send content into the workspace. Once captured, the item can participate in database views, relations, formulas, templates and automations. That flexibility is powerful if the organization already runs projects and documentation in Notion.
Dekkit is narrower by design. Each saved link, image, file or note becomes a Card with a required thumbnail and source context. Cards are stored in Decks, grouped through Collections and reused on multidimensional Boards. The default model already matches visual research, so the user can focus on the material and its relationships rather than defining properties and views first.
Configuration versus a dedicated workflow
Notion can create capable inspiration libraries. A database can show the same records as a table, board, list, calendar or gallery; properties and relations can encode almost any taxonomy. The trade-off is authorship: someone has to design and maintain that system. The official Web Clipper help also notes that tags cannot currently be added during clipping and that page formatting depends on how a site is structured, so some captured pages need cleanup after they arrive.
Dekkit supplies stronger defaults for this specific job. The Card is a source object, not merely a database row. A Deck holds a focused body of material, while a Board is a separate place to compare, cluster and sequence selected Cards. Because a Card can appear in multiple Boards, alternate interpretations do not require duplicate records or extra database views.
Collaboration and scale
Notion is the stronger general-purpose workspace. It can connect research to meeting notes, roadmaps, wikis and operational databases, with detailed collaboration and permission features. Dekkit is the more focused visual layer: teams collect evidence and build a legible map of how it supports a creative or product decision.
The right choice may also be both. A team can keep specifications and project status in Notion while using Dekkit for the visual evidence and synthesis that feed those documents.
Pricing and who should choose each
Notion lists Free at $0, Plus at $10 per member/month and Business at $20 per member/month on its pricing page, with enterprise pricing by contact. Dekkit offers Starter free and Basic from $3.99/month, with larger plans for greater capacity, Boards and AI.
Choose Notion when visual references must live inside a configurable all-in-one workspace. Choose Dekkit when you want a dedicated path from capture to a reusable library and then to a visual argument.
